The Story
Human was written mainly about
preachers, and the like, who portray
themselves as being closer to
"Godliness" than your average
man-on-the-street. I feel that if anyone
actually can achieve a "higher level" in
this mortal coil, there are probably very
few preachers who have done this.
Likewise, I also wanted to point out that
you shouldn't look to me, or anyone for
that matter, as an example. Every man,
and woman, has a daily routine of doing
something that they know they shouldn't,
and the sooner we all realize how human
we are, the better off the whole world will
be. The last verse ends on the note that
these "holier than thou" types have no
right to judge me. I may look scary, but I
make a good point.

The Lyrics
1: You always seem to know just what to
say.
Bait their trust and lead the little lambs
astray.
I'm sick of all these silly little games you
play.
You never believed in me anyway.
You say you know just what I'm going
through.
You say you know just what I gotta do.
Make an act of faith and just follow you.
You're just a mortal human being too.
Chorus: I'm human. I made another
mistake.
I'm human, and I sin most every day.
I'm human, and I know that you are too.
I'm human. I'm human just like you.
2: I'm not a superstar. Don't look up to me.
I'm not Christ, so don't hang me on your
tree.
I'm not a savior, and there's no way I could
ever be.
Just look a little past what you see.
The spirit's willing, but the flesh is weak.
A sheep in wolf's clothing... so oblique.
Most people thought Christ was just a
freak.
Well I guess maybe God is alot like me.
(Repeat Chorus)
The Story
The lyrics of Babylon are not nearly as
controversial as the actual meaning
behind them. The song was written just as
the great controversy over the war in Iraq
was beginning. On one side, people were
screaming that we (USA) shouldn't stick
our noses in other peoples business. On
the other side, people were saying that
we can't sit back and watch an evil man
gain power. Both good points! I took the
fact that the capital of Iraq was once the
historic Babylon and mixed it with the
idea that some radicals view New York
as the prophetic Babylon and came up
with the dual vision of the fall of Baylon on
both sides. Capitalism was attacked and
an evil tyrant was taken from his seat of
power as well. I see the balance of the
universe being set in these events as well
as the drawing near of the time when all
will answer for their deeds, both good and
evil.

The Lyrics
1: Beneath these spacious skies...
confusion.
Men find comfort in lies... delusion.
One man is spiritless.
Another does his best.
Can mortal eyes see past illusion?
Bridge 1: Darkness is falling.
Celestial signs are calling.
Eye of all sight
Bring us to light.
Chorus: Oh Babylon, the great and mighty
have fallen.
Your day is done. Iniquity will consume
you.
His kingdom come. The throne is set
upon this world.
Each and every one... come and bow
before the Son.
2: Forces move on... no hesitation.
The chosen come through tribulation.
The prophesies foretell of where the
spirits dwell.
And now we stand in jubilation.
(Repeat Bridge 1)
Bridge 2: A hearts love is burning.
The winds of time are turning.
Awaken the saints and rise in His name.
The Story
Chameleon was written several years
ago (almost ten actually) when I had just
gone through a period of adjustment from
leaving the "Christian" band Golgotha
behind. If I had learned anything from my
experiences in the so-called Christian
music industry, it was these two: Nothing
and no one is what it seems. And you had
better learn to adapt to your environment
if you're going to survive. These were the
two main pillars of the song. Just as you
begin to see the true colors of everything
around you, you must also be able to live
inside another skin to conceal what is
going on inside you and to protect
yourself from the attacks of others. To be
cliché, you can't judge a book by its
cover. So I say, don't let your cover be the
true judge of you. Always keep them
guessing and they'll never know which
bad thing to say about you.

The Lyrics
1: Time to walk in a different jungle.
Better change my skin.
Fade from black to grey to white trying to
fit in.
Heaven help me when I stumble. Green
eyes turn to black.
Onward Christian soldiers ready to attack.
Chorus: What color is the devil?
I'm the great chameleon.
What color is your god?
I'm the great chameleon.
What color is Jesus Christ?
I'm the great chameleon.
What color is the Lord?
I'm the great chameleon.
2: Hate me again and hate me some
more.
Nothing's really changed.
Just what is it that you hate me for?
We all remain insane.
Can the zebra change his stripes
because you don't approve?
Keep on pushing, shoving, pushing.
I will not be moved.
(Repeat Chorus)
